The Black Catholic Flourishing Initiative introduces a new framework—one that recognizes the spiritual vitality, cultural creativity, leadership, and resilience that have long sustained Black and Catholic communities.

An Invitation
to the Whole Church
This is not an initiative for Black Catholics alone—it is an invitation to the whole Church. The flourishing of Black Catholic communities is inseparable from the flourishing of the Church itself. To embrace this vision is to follow Christ’s call to radical inclusion, justice, and joy. It means seeing Black Catholic gifts not as optional “additions” but as essential to the Catholic identity in the United States.
